Anyway: grex’ stage is before you’ve applied a personnal strong selection pressure, so if seeds go from far far away in a really different climate I’d say yes, but if they go in good amounts from a place nearby or similar to yours I would say you start directly in selection stage. That’s those 2 first years I want help skipping, or at least partially, for market gardeners, notably those around me who will never ever go for creating a landrace if they have to do all the preliminar work.
