Thank you for explaining that! Yes, high UV definitely makes sense; we certainly have that here. :laughing: It’s ridiculous how easy it is to sunburn here. I hadn’t thought about more water loss, and that’s a really interesting thing to factor in. It’s so helpful to know things! :blush:

Heh, there are probably pros and cons for every climate. Probably all climates are imperfect somehow, but probably all climates are wonderful somehow, too. My climate definitely has disadvantages, but I love breathing the dry air, the mountains are stunningly beautiful, and zone 7b is such a genuinely nice middle-of-the-road lowest temperature range. I can just barely get away with some tropical plants in a well-built greenhouse, plus I can also grow all the temperate plants that want long chill hours, and/or long, wet winters. There are a lot of wonderful things about living here!

It’s so joyful when a person finds a climate that suits their most important needs. :blush:
