Horseradish seeds?

Nice! but bummer it got mowed. How can you protect against a mower, Ask neighbor nicely ?

Also in the first photo is that a wild blackberry branch stuck to your pants (In the background) or do the roots just look that way?

Nice! They actually don’t look that different from Shotcress (Cardamine hirsuta) or Watercress (Nasturtium officinale) Seeds. No wonder because both are part of the same Tribe Cardamineae.

The neighbor mows drunk. I have since put up a fence in that area.

The thing that looks like a stick is the roots. That one might not be a good option, but we’ll see.

There’s one more plant under the horseradish that I decided to leave for now.

:joy: that doesn’t sound like a good idea to operate machinery under the influence.

No. He mowed my garden a few months after I moved in. I started putting up big chunks of log around anything I didn’t want mowed, and started saving for fences.

Horseradish is growing here in czech republic in meadows, not many plants, but it can be found almost in every meadow. So if someone wants it, it can be easily found and harvested without growing it in the garden. There is one area which is known for growing them intentionally. I have one in my garden, 10 years maybe, it is still in the same place, no seedlings.
Maybe it is propagates by root cuttings made and forgotten in stashes by rodents? I read an article about finding of such a rodent stash full of symphytum officinalis root cuttings which correlated with sudden spread of symphytum officinal in a garden. (I have some in my garden too, many years, and there is not a single symphytum officinalis seedling). So it might work similarly with horseradish?

My teen does the mowing, so I have to put rocks or logs around things to keep him off of them. I appreciate his work, but I don’t want to have to remind him every time!
