How important to you is beauty, in your landrace selection? [Bonus points for pictures]

Locally im part of a project that is selling jewelery. It’s been fun and has definitely caused me to consider growing some new bean varieties just for beauty, which feels weird for me to say.

These Astronomy Domine corn photos being posted on social media by a local farm is causing people around town to ask me for seeds. Win  I guess that’s more compelling to some than that it actually grows and thrives in our cool climate….

AD in it’s most beautiful phase here- after eating phase and before it shrivels.

I wonder if they would germinate…

Same here, people are excited about the colourful bean seeds. Not that they have a longer harvest period or wider adaptation or different uses or flavours…

Whatever works to get seed savers comfortable about saving unknown/un-named seeds is a giant step forward! :slightly_smiling_face:

I know I get excited about beautiful bean seeds! I’ll sometimes actively select against white seeds, without even having tried the variety, just because white is so boring.
