went to a pumpkin patch today, just thought someone would appreciate the stem on this ornamental (maybe jack-o-lantern?) pumpkin:

If anyone wants seeds, let me know and I can save them for you.

also picked this Cinderella pumpkin:

I’ve read they might be edible, so I’ll taste the flesh and see if it’s safe to eat (it was grown in a field full of ornamentals). Will probably save the seeds, I think they’re a maxima so I may grow them in with the Nanticoke mix I have?

What are you all doing for fall, anyone else having fun?

Hi,

the above pumpkin is a Cucurbita pepo, the second a Cucurbita maxima. Both won’t mix with the other.

if you will have got mixes with the “ornamentals” depends on the species to which the “ornamentals” are belonging.

Maybe you could show some pictures of them.

If you need the caracteristics to distinguish the three main eatable species of the genus Cucurbita you can find them [here](https://www.ichbindannmalimgarten.de/kuerbisse-kennen/#unterscheidungsmerkmale) (the page is in German but you can translate it with Google)

Hi poppy,

that’s funny that you are learning German (das ist witzig, dass Du Deutsch lernst). Then maybe you have double success…

Do you have some pictures of the “ornamentals”?
