There are about fifty different categories. It would take about two hours to pull them all out of the box and get on my computer to type all the names up one at a time. I would rather not spend my time that way, especially since categories are bound to shift as needed anyway.
The empty ones are at the top, though, so I can easily list those. There are only two categories that are currently empty!
Peaches, cherries, pecans. Not sure if I stuck almonds in there. I was trying to pack the box so it wouldn’t rattle so much, but the post office didn’t have a small box.
They’re not any specific variety. The pecans were foraged from a wild grove north of me.
Hey, @MaartenFoubert, good news! @markwkidd’s seeds arrived today, and I had time today to sort them all into the main box and backup box, so . . . the Serendipity Seed Swap main box is ready to go!
Are you ready to receive it, and send it on to the next person on the list within two weeks?
@Naomiupland The box hasn’t arrived here yet, but I am planning to do a quick turnaround so more people can get the box before 2025 planting season. Could you DM me your address?
Thanks
Maarten
The box has been well-received. Thanks to all who contributed! I added my seeds and will drop it off at USPS tomorrow. This is a list of the current contents (wouldn’t let me upload the xls so these are pictures):
Looking forward to getting the box! I wasn’t ready for it to come so soon! We are currently packing up our home in Brooklyn and moving to our country home (where my seed stash is) permanently on November 8th! I’ll be able to send the package out by the 10th. Thank you to those who got the box going again and apologies for the little delay.
Finished our move upstate NYC last night. Arrived exhausted with our last few belongings in our country home (now to be our forever home). Yes! The box waited here and I’m so happy to get to work on it.
Will probably open this evening and try to finish in a few short days and send it off again.
The list shows
Alexis Colby Nunez @LarimarHomestead as the next person, so I look forward to getting a message with your address!
I had so much fun with the seed box last night. The perfect way to celebrate the beginning of full time living on the land. I shipped the box this afternoon to Alexis.
Please place my name at the bottom of the list! Thanks @UnicornEmily !
Awesome. I am thrilled to hear it was such perfect timing for you. I hope your adventure of full time living off the land will be wonderful and fulfilling.
The box came in yesterday but no one in our household told me about it until today.
We’ve initially gone through it tonight. There are lots of interesting packets with large amounts of seeds. We are going to keep half from those and put the rest of it back.
We are going to try and get the seed box out and going by next week. Hopefully Monday.
Exciting! I’m thrilled that you’ve found a lot of interesting seeds in there. I’ve been doing my best to gather cool seeds to share in there, and I bet other people have, too!
