-40°f windchill today, no snowcover

Of my perrenials and biennials, I plan to record what survives and what doesn’t for my personal records and for others to see.

Annuals I have 1 year old and 3 year apple. 3 year old peach. Walking onion. Welsh onion. Phaseolus polystachios (Oikos strain) + (Arkansas strain). 1 year old Black cherry (prunus serotina).

Biennials. Carrots, kale, diverse cabbage, rutabangin rutabaga grex, chard under row cover. Parsnip.

It’ll be interesting. Our temps aren’t quite that low, but will get lower tonight (possibly -20 windchill?). I hadn’t thought about the perennials and trees, focused more on the chickens. The NE wind, currently 21 mph, blows right into their shelter.

Apple trees, pear, plum; seedling grape, pear, apple; 3 year old apricots and peaches.

Herbs, some of them 1st year.
