Canadian seed share pilot program 2025

We had a very successful launch, with about 40 orders total for now (10 from contributors, 30 from everyone else)! Ashley has been working hard as she is the only one who filled packets, filled enveloppes, and mailed orders.

We ran out of watermelon (only 30 packets). Seems like many are getting excited to grow those (me included). We will need to return seeds to have more next year!
We can probably handle another 30 orders without stocking out in other things, and maybe more 50-60 orders total.

Orders have slowed down a lot and we still have half our stock. Any ideas on how to reach more Canadian growers (ideally growers who will want to save seeds at the end of the season)?

I’ll probably put an order in, I’ve just been giving others a chance to order as I probably have way too many seeds already. I may have a seed hoarding problem

I’m still trying to find a large garden plot to rent, or maybe I can convince my in-laws to let me till up some of their pasture, I think the cows were sold this spring so hopefully the pasture is up for grabs.

We still have plenty of seeds (for the majority of crops), and orders are trickling in very slowly.
Go for it! If you’re already active in this forum I know you’ll figure out what to do with them.

Also we’ve reached 50+ orders now and are pretty happy about it. We’ll eventually close the store down at some point in April.
BTW, if someone in here has a big garden, could use more seeds than provided, and is planning to send some back next winter, let us know.
