This Sunday the 19th! Joseph is going to tell his whole story (or at least more of it). And if you love Adaptation Gardening this explains the darkness and then clarity out of which it evolved.
3 pm PDT/ 6 pm EST/10 pm GMT
Joseph told this story at the Heirloom Festival in California in September, and I had a tragic issue with the audio, so it’s never been recorded.
If you’ve read Landrace Gardening, taken all the courses and read everything here, this is a presentation will tell more of the story behind the work:
"Joseph will share with us the details of his life, from graduating college as a chemist and working in the industry to create weapons of mass destruction to mental breakdowns and nightmares that eventually led him to vow never to kill anything ever again. This exclusive webinar will give us the full story of how Joseph transformed from his destructive antithesis to the joyful gardening guru he is now. To hear Joseph’s untold story, join us on Sunday, May 19th, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM PDT/ 8 main Australia EST 5/20
However, it appears to be restricted access as the registration does not permit Australian phone numbers. Anyone care to share their phone number with me via PM so I can register?
Anyway, for the Aussies, if you do happen to know an American phone number, it is 8am (EST) Monday 20th.
Hi Julia,
Do you have a guesstimate of when it will go up online? Or will it not? I have something already going that day and would love to watch it if it is available. If it won’t be, I understand.
Thanks!
I didn’t think to do that. Thanks @julia.dakin.
I now have a ticket but the email I got said I would receive the zoom link once I’d registered. How do I register? The link in the opening post takes you to the ticket purchase web site. I guess I was expecting ticket purchase and registration to happen at the same time. Or should I be posing this question to someone else? @anna perhaps?
Edit: I just got an email reminder of the webinar but still no link.
You’re registered, the zoom link is in the automatic confirmation link when you signed up… I’ll forward you another, and we’ll send the link to participants before the meeting.
I hope there is a recording that will be shared! I signed up, but then realized it’ll be around midnight my time - Central European Summer time. Ill be in a deep sleep when this one goes live
Thank you so much @Joseph_Lofthouse . It is such a vibrant story, thanks so much for sharing.
The 20 first minutes are all surprising new content. Then later, for those familiar with the forum and Joseph’s breeding work, there is not much new. But it put things in perspective, and it is a great way to hear it again in other words.
I appreciated very much. And @Joseph_Lofthouse when you talk about record keeping, as I find it an harassing thing I am struggling with these days, as I have so much to plant, so much to sow and etcetera, it is very touching my heart. I know where to go from now, It will have been a temporary thing. Already I have converted 100% of my cucurbits to direct sowing, with big bags of already made grexes, but I am for the last year injecting many new lines in many species (watermelons, melons, edible lagenarias, wax gourd, etc.), so I kind of still keep records of where I plant each… But from this year on, there will only be one bottle for each species, and for special ones, apart from very specific sub-projects (in tomatoes things resembling Wildling Panamorous, or in cucumis melo fruits used as cucumbers) I will only sort by nature, or type, after tasting : for tomatoes cherry tomato / paste tomato / determinate, etc… and for all the others only the best tasting.
Joseph continues to be such an inspiration. Thank you all for putting this video together, for Joseph sharing his story, and for this community to exist so we can all learn to live with joy while we garden with each other.
