Heheh absolutely! I keep reminding her if we let em grow that we get lots of tasty garlic bread. Either way, it is super rewarding and comforting onserving her rummage around the garden… cant wait to watch her pick at the ripening beans, raspberries, tomatoes and more soon enough!
Last year I decided that 500 heads of garlic wasn’t enough, so I planted 2,000 cloves last fall . . . do you think that might be enough for your family to have lots of tasty garlic bread and your daughter to be able to snack on the leaves? ![]()
We have wild onions growing in a meadow like area, and my son and a neighbor kid will bring me bunches of them. In years past, I’ve quietly composted them if I couldn’t use them. This year, I’m washing and dying to make onion powder. Then, I can accept their love offerings with a smile each time! And it’s an honest smile!
That’s fun! It’s wonderful to be able to forage wild food to eat. ![]()
I recently had this conversation outside with two of my children:
“Boys! Those aren’t for swordfighting! That one is the handle of a shovel. That one is a bamboo stake. You can swordfight with some of the branches down there.”
and i thought my 175 was plenty of garlic!! You must have an incredibly satisfying harvest. Slowly but surely i plant more and more each season, next year will be an increase from 175 but i think it’ll take me a while to get to 500… nevermind if i could squeeze in 2000
Kudos to your mass garlic haul!
3 posts were split to a new topic: Is there really such a thing as “enough” garlic?
Awww, that’s so cute!
Did your little one pull that toy truck in all full of them?
Yup! Pushed them all the way home.
How helpful! ![]()
