Garden Fails Collection

I can get strawberry seeds to germinate most of the time by sprinkling them on top of moist soil in a pot, and covering it completely with plastic and leaving it under a grow light or next to a windowsill.

Keeping the baby plants alive is a lot more difficult. If I remove the plastic, they die fast. It’s possible they need not only light, but humidity.

Most of my tps potatoes have been giving me microtubers. The largest harvest that i got from my tps was one plant that yielded 350g in total, consisting of mostly small potatoes. The rest of my plants yielded about half of that from each. I will save most of the tubers and try to get them to flower and make new potato seed next year, since just getting ahold of tps seeds was so difficult

I have tried strawberry seedling and i can note différents things:

-The young strawberry plants are very sensitive at the heat and drought

-The pots should be watered by immersion

-They can resist without problem at -5°C 23°F in a very humid soil

(Laugh.) Yeah, that tracks with me having trouble keeping them alive with a very dry climate, fast-draining soil, and zero humidity.
