I have unexpectedly gained access to a lot more growing space, and I want to plant sunflowers. GtS is sold out of the sunflower mix. Does anyone have sunflower seeds they’d be willing to share? My ideal sunflower is tall, single-headed, drought-tolerant, can stand up to high winds, and has large seeds. (More or less like Mammoth, but more diverse and with an emphasis on being able to grow in drylands.)

I have a few extra Mammoths I can send you if that’s of any interest. Maybe 15 or so.

Your timing is good. A lovely donor in S. Utah gifted a generous amount of Mammoth Gray Striped sunflower seeds which have "huge heads and seeds, strong stalks, [and are] drought tolerant. “ They were grown without chemicals, under hot, dry, rather harsh conditions. Would 1/2 oz. be a good amount? DM me your mailing address.

I have seeds saved from Hopi Black Dye and Apache Brown Stripe grown together last year.

Hi Malcolm, Happy to send you a little package of my mix. Can’t remember what’s in it, it’s from 2023 but It has quite a few types so perhaps a good gene pool starter addition.
