I’m looking for any watermelon traits that might enhance resistance to the melon fly, without compromising taste. I do plan on working through some bitter wild varieties growing around here(southern Israel), but ideally I want a watermelon that’s really hairy, or spiky/armoured. Has anyone encountered anything of this sort before?
