We’re excited to share an upcoming series hosted by the Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security:
Where Does Your Seed Come From? Understanding Different Seed Systems
Seeds are more than what’s in the packet—they carry generations of care, migration, knowledge, and resilience. This series invites farmers, seed growers, educators, and policy-engaged folks to explore the many layers of our seed systems, from hybrid and open-pollinated seed production to public research, farm-saved seed, and farmer-led breeding. Together, we’ll dig into the technical, political, and cultural forces that shape the seeds we grow and the systems we want for the future.
