Soybean landrace

My soybeans are making new soybeans already! I saw the flowers starting to form quite a few days ago, and was waiting to see any open so I could know how they’d look a day before opening, for doing crossing. However, I never saw any open, and I’ve also been ill for the last week. But here are some photos, you can see the tiny flowers and also the bean pods. Does this make sense to anyone? The soybean flowers I’ve seen on crossing videos are much bigger and do open. This is making things rather confusing for me regarding when to dissect the flowers for crossing, and also how to get pollen - I’d been waiting for the open flowers to get their pollen first! And the different varieties flowering look the same.

Regarding the health of the plants, 3 have died but the rest seem to be looking better than before. And the second wave of them have been repotted - wanted to repot these but maybe once I’m feeling better as I have to work on their pot quite a bit…

That is rough. I can’t even see the flowers. I remember the ones I grew last year at least had conspicuous flowers, although they were tiny. It looks like the tiny nubs of white are when they’re open.

Do you have a good pair of precision tweezers? I think you might just have to play around with dissecting them to find the flower parts.

I hope you feel better soon and can work on this.
