So I planted spinach and only maybe 10-15 plants survived. One already bolted (I’m guessing a male) and it’s already pretty much dead at this point. I just could not seem to keep it alive. I left it in the garden in place, but I don’t know how long the pollen will stay there or if it’s going to be too long in between when it bolted and when the females start to bolt. None of the others have bolted yet. I’m hoping there’s still a male but I’m worried they are all females since the other male had already bolted and I heard the males tend to bolt before the females. Is there any hope for getting seeds?

At least a quarter of them should be male. Mine have been closer to half, but you should still have plenty.
If you’re concerned in the future, you may want to try freezing the pollen.

Thanks! I just remembered reading that there were fewer males so I was worried.
The information I’m finding online suggests 1:1 male to female. It of course depends on which seeds are planted.
My own experience is roughly 1:1 as well. I’ve never had any problem with pollination or flowering times.
