This is my entire harvest of beans from this spring. It was a mix of generations from previous seasons but also had some new varieties added. All bush beans.
It is a good number of beans but pretty sad relative to the total amount I planted. We had a weirdly super wet spring of continuous rain and cool weather, followed by an abrupt shift to hot and dry as the pods were maturing.
I lost the majority of what I planted due to the wet conditions rotting the seeds. Out of the plants that did grow many shriveled before producing seed.

so these are survivors, with a good genetics, keep them dearly !
did you sow all of your stock from last year ?
Following Joseph’ advice, I usually sow only half of what I have, maximum.
Usefull when you have a mix difficult to replace / recreate.

I used about 1/4 from each of the generations from the last few years and I also added a few new varieties. Not sure if any new ones survived.
Yes, I have already seen improvements.
I’m sure with the conditions I would only have produced half this, or even less, if I had only planted seed pack varieties.
