Two Webinars in Week of May 11, 2026

We have 2 thought-provoking webinars exploring significant issues in the seed world coming up next week. Please register to receive the webinar links.

Monday, May 11 @ 4 PM PDT | Bonnetta Adeeb of Ujamaa Seeds will join Spencer Suffling to talk about the power of oral histories, the work of attribution, and why honoring elders and ancestral varieties sits in real tension with the push toward adaptive grexes… a conversation about holding both preservation and adaptation, as we shape the future of seed.

Friday, May 15 @ 4 PM PDT | Plants are incredible learners, but only if we let them be. In this webinar, researcher and Oregon State University extension agent Lucas Nebert explores what’s happening beneath the surface when seeds adapt to place: the relationships plants build with their microbial symbionts, the epigenetic memory they pass to the next generation, and why plant domestication has quietly eroded these capacities.

Lucas will be interviewed by Michelle Dang, Research Coordinator at The Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security.
