Lots of farmers Spray & Spray and then are surprised they bred a Super Amaranth that won’t die from Pesticides. (Like chico… You Unintentionally selected for Amaranth that would survive your sprays, Nature is designed to be Over Coming! Nature will eventually overcome every Obstacle!)
Also Let’s forget the bright Idea of Spraying Herbicides in Forrest to Kill “Invasive Species”. All done under the idea that “We care about the Environment” and that Pesticides/Herbicides are a “Necessary Evil” to stop them. What Backwards/Mental Gymnastics logic is required to make that make sense?
Just simply think about it like this, Because Nature is Designed to be Overcoming, Nature will eventually Overcome Us (Because then we Become the Obstacle to Overcome).
The dose is the poison with just about every food. Plants especially, even domesticated ones, usually contain residual levels of defence chemicals even after processing. People vary in how sensitive they are to different plant defence chemicals. Even pure starch can be problematic for people with low copy number for amylase. Legume seeds are particularly notorious for containing potent defence chemicals, and different species vary in how toxic they are even with reasonable processing. Soybean is probably one of the less edible common beans, and in asian culture they generally know that people should eat them in moderation. I’m working with sword beans which are a bit more toxic again. Lowering toxicity in crops by selective breeding is a trade off like everything else since the toxins often help protect the crops from pests. GMO low cyanide strains of cassava were mostly rejected when introduced into African subsistence farms since the pests tore them apart.
Fecal microbe transplants have untapped potential, but it is early days and because it is a treatment which is difficult to standardise (or make much money from) the medical industry has very little incentive to investigate it. It is another example of a field where self experimentation is yielding more results (though it isnt entirely risk free, but neither is eating doritos for lunch). I wonder how far humans could be pushed with gut microbe engineering to digest cellulose more effectively. Nature says though that doing it well requires a specialised gut structure coupled with slower throughput. Humans might be able to do it outside the body (like we do everything else) in clay pots. We do similar things fermenting other foodstuffs.
I don’t have a lot of confidence in mainstream nutritional research. There is just so much going on that reducing it to ingredient X is good and Y is bad seems doomed to go nowhere. Joseph Lofthouse’s strategy of tasting the crops he is saving feels more accessible and productive to me. Our own senses are far more powerful than machines in a lab, if we take the time to train them.
For humans, I think our key trait is that we do so many key functions outside our body. We digest our food outside our stomachs with cooking/fermentation. We “grow” tools out of a complex array of materials at the tips of our fingers. We think outside our heads with language. And we connect with networks of people that circle the planet to exchange ideas and hopefully seeds and cuttings and domestic animals in the future.
Yea, EatTheWeeds said “Thus the beans are edible. They just have to be cooked longer than other beans, and for good reason.” and “So, what’s the catch? There is one: Mature and dry beans have got a high amount of cyanogenic glycosides in them. Not good for you. Mature or dry beans must not be eaten raw. They have to be cooked.”
I can see after reading both of these source how Lablab beans require a lil more carefulness than Common old Phasaeolus beans. Soybeans (Glycine max) would just require more time than common beans. I’ve also read that the older/drier the bean is, the longer you have to soak & cook it.
I also wonder if this cooking should slightly apply to peas, since I did notice some more wilder peas have a bitter taste to them.
Yea, that’s awesome. It’s like any other muscle in our body. I’ve also Noticed that the more hungry you are, the stronger the taste you sense. Maybe this has a role in Training our Taste buds (& Smell) to detect Poisons.
Even in standard breeding it’s recommended to do reciprocal crosses.
Look up Khang Starr’s Youtube channel. He’s a really nice guy.
Yes.
I don’t know what GS stands for. And this is not really about bulking up seeds. It’s about creating the initial hybrid swarm. It’s basically the first 2 years of the ‘modern landrace’ method but made more efficient and more comprehensive, hence basically putting many years into 1.
I don’t know any it wouldn’t work with. If day length is important, it could require making sure you can put the plants into sufficient darkness for specific periods, so, that’s something one needs to be aware of and prepare for also.
I don’t see why not. I don’t know about them, like how small/young one could make them still flower. For some species space would be an issue I guess. And money. Lights and so on cost money.
Personally I don’t really like that kind of Christian view of dominion etc. I think that worldview is probably the primary cause of the current mass extinction event. But anyway, ants and termites have been farming for millions of years, e.g.:
So also do damselfish, ambrosia beetles, marsh periwinkles, and some other species. Perhaps I should not interfere with your religious views. But it would seem to me that cultures who think they are chosen by a god character, generally tend to be extremely violent and destructive, and I would assume there’s a causal link there.
Triploids can’t reproduce sexually. You could perhaps google it.
Yeah, I think you can basically eat the shit of a healthy person and it can do a lot of good. There’s actually a long tradition of that in traditional Korean medicine. Though be careful, you can catch things like obesity and depression from people that way too, so, be selective! Also eating mud can be good. Modern humans mostly have a severe lack in microbiome diversity. Eating dirty vegetables can reverse that, as can eating a species-rich diet, so it seems. The number of plant species most Westerners eat is ridiculously small compared to many more ‘traditional’ cultures.
Me neither. I would think the simplest way to eat healthily is just to eat a species-rich non-toxic plant based diet. And include some bacterial processes. Just to give an example of the latter, vitamin D3 is extremely important for health, it actually regulates the expression of … I forget but a huge number of our genes. Has a massive impact on the immune system, for example, hence being a huge determining factor in covid outcome for example - were governments moral, everyone would have heard about this, but since there’s pretty much no money to be made with such an extremely cheap treatment, the governments and media were almost silent on it, despite the plentitude of peer reviewed research on it and the many specific covid studies with D3 in various countries.
Anyway, the actual amount of D3. that is optimal is many times more than governments (like in the UK for example) recommend. For example both covid-specific studies and studies of African hunter-gatherer D3 levels have shown the same results, which translate roughly to most ‘modern’ people needing to supplement with around 5,000~10,000 IU of D3 per day. However, at doses from about 5,000 upwards, there is a danger of calcification of the arteries, which is why most doctors may tend to warn against that. But that’s because they are not up to date with medical research. We now know that vitamin K2 is essential for the body to regulate where the calcium (which is made more available from digestion by the D3) goes - K2 ensures it goes to the bones. And K2 is made by bacteria. You can get it from grass fed cow muscle, if you eat that. The cows get it from the bacteria in their digestive tract. But you get by far more from bacterial processes such as lactofermented pickles, which before artificial refrigeration were very common around the world, and are still a standard part of diet in places like Korea and Japan. But the source that’s about 10 times richer than any other, is nattō. The K2 they sell in shops is extracted from nattō. This is why I started making nattō - I’d rather make K2 than buy it. Oh and this is also why it’s been shown that women in Japan who eat nattō suffer far less from bone breaks/fractures (there was a study relating to pregnancy and calcium loss there - many Japanese eat nattō every day).
Just did, Very Valuable info! Thank you for Introducing me to him!
What would be good Easy (Beginner Friendly) plants to start this with? So I can get a hang of it? Or what plants have you done Speed Breeding with Easily, and which ones were harder?
I agree, thank you for getting me to think twice about my theories! The video below explains it better.
We are neither aliens of the Earth, nor are we owners of the earth. Humans are essentially the priest of this earth, Our job is to take care of the earth. We & the Earth are both creations of God, therefore we must submit to God.
Thank you for bringing up the link, they was an interesting read! As always, we learn so much from them. But here’s the question, do they domesticate/Breed them? What I’m trying to say is, are Ants and Termites simply obeying Natural Selection rather than consciously selecting what traits to breed for?
Are we are the only species on earth with the Knowledge to truly breed/Landrace new plants, the only species who can shape the genetics of Natural Selection away from Survival of the fittest to another purpose? Or is everything we breed/landrace also natural selection?
You are absolutely on to something here! Ain’t no causal link about it, It’s a Full Blown STRONG CORRELATION! (Almost stereotypical even). All it is in a nutshell is Prideful Ego Boosting without any self-accountability! The “We can do no wrong mindset because our God said so” is what blinds us all.
Ah, this is how seedless watermelons are made. Although when I eat Seedless Watermelons, I do occasionally find actual seeds (Like 3-4 per Seedless Watermelon). Is this nature overcoming Plodiy/Triploids? Or something else?
Bruh… What are the chances!? You vegan? That’s exactly what I think. Though I would add to that, a Whole Food Plant Based Diet, since Potato chips are also plant based but not a whole food. It’s also funny cuz if it weren’t for the plant based diet, I probably would’ve never developed a strong interest in Plants and especially Landrace Gardening.
Tell me, is this also why you got into Gardening?
That is AWESOME!!! Man if there was a tutorial of how to do that for Vitamin B12, Vitamin D and K2 via fermented foods, cuz the fear that always made me cautious about fermented foods like that is fear of poisoning myself (Via something spoiling/Rotting Improperly). I think that only happens if you do Fermenting the wrong way, so what is the right/Safe way to do it?
Also isn’t fermenting just composting in a nutshell? I don’t think there is a discrepancy there, is there?
I’ve only done tomatoes (10 species, couldn’t get corneliomulleri to work, and habrochaites doing badly - probably need UV for both of those and I chose not to include UV in my build), and peppers (3 species, would have added more species but the others I have in soil for now). I don’t know what to recommend since that’s all I have experience with. But could try anything!
Also Khang does a lot of Kratky and that’s what appealed to me, I wanted simple and noise free. But there are better hydro systems if those are not concerns. And you may as well try any crops. Or search Youtube for crops you’re wondering about and see other people’s demos or experience. Also choosing correct nutrients is important. Plus I had issues with water hardness, I have to filter all my water for hydro, learned that the hard way, it was reacting with the nutrients and crystallising out killing all the roots rapidly!
Oh I was trying to kind of speed breed rice and soy too, but in soil, just keeping the containers small and growing inside. Was going great. But then I got my first experience of spider mites. Still, you can speed breed in soil too. But nutrients are really important, and hydro can potentially make that easier.
That was another huge quote. So don’t know what you agree with.
You’re welcome.
Philosophically I feel we are just one of countless species. I definitely don’t see us as some kind of chosen ones here to take care of the earth. And if we look around we will see we are the only species that is in fact destroying the earth. Take mammals for example - now wild animals make up just 4% by mass globally. Livestock are 62%, humans 34%. As a species we are basically psychopathic demons. (Although psychopathic demon does in quite a few cases fit the ‘priest’ idea, but that’s another story!). If that’s god’s work then I vote he be assassinated.
I figure it’s like slavery. A slave owner is in charge of a slave. Might rape them regularly, whip them regularly, kill all their children and so on. So sure, the slave owner is in charge. They might even consider they ‘take care’ of the slave. They might even believe a god character put them in charge. But damn, if we step back and see what’s actually going on, the slave never asked to be ‘taken care of’, the god character is in their imagination, and for sure the slave owner is a criminal, maybe not by law (depending on where and when) but morally, ethically, yes.
And the human race is similarly criminal, but on the largest scale ever known. It’s so far far beyond genocide. We don’t even have a word for it. I feel deeply sad about all of this. And in terms of the work I’m trying to do with crops, I definitely don’t think in terms of ‘looking after’ the planet. I just want to do what I can to reduce the horrific amount of destruction the human species is doing. It’s like, being vegetarian or vegan isn’t ‘saving’ animals. It’s just reducing the amount of torture and murder, abstaining from some amount of violence. That’s good but there’s a difference from actively helping, and refraining from murder, if you see what I mean. If I were raising money to buy land and then rewild it, that would be more directly positive in terms of benefiting the other countless species. I’d love to do that if I could! But for now I am just trying to find ways to lessen the horrific impact of our species. And also maybe help out with situations of poverty and starvation that are somewhat current already but I believe will become catastrophic quite soon.
Depends what you mean. So far as I understand, in at least some cases (I have not looked into them all and none too deeply), some of the ‘farmed’ species have coevolved with the ‘farmer’ species and are now dependent on them. That is the same for human-domesticated crops. Did they make conscious decisions to ‘domesticate’ specie? I would say no. But then, did all our domesticated species arise from a conscious decision to domesticate them? I would also say not. I would say many of them, or perhaps most or nearly all (probably it’s only in modern times that we find exceptions?), it has been a very slow and gradual process, coming about through habit, in a way not too dissimilar, I would posit, from those other species.
What I would say stands out for our species is the high ratio of prefrontal cortex in our brain. Though elephants, whales, and dolphins, may lie in a similar category to us in that regard. Anyway, in our case, that has led to sophisticated tool use, and abstract thought. For the latter, those others might be doing that too. But it is the former that has led to our outstanding physical manipulation of our environment. Which includes the creation of our current mass extinction event. And the latter has led us to … I do not mean to be rude here, but, delusions such as thinking there is an all powerful god character that has put us in charge of the planet as some kind of superior beings. I don’t think elephants, whales, and dolphins, suffer from such delusions. I also don’t think hunter gatherers suffered from that either, so it’s not inherent to the human condition, and it is possible to have a world view where we see ourselves as just one part of an interconnected web. But farming in my opinion (which is only around 12,000 years old) led to severe dualism and mental disconnection from the natural world. Which we see embodied in agricultural religions, such as Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and so on.
Largely answered (in terms of my opinion) above. But just to add - ‘natural selection’ is a human concept that attempts to explain some phenomena we observe in the natural world. It is a useful concept for helping us partially understand a part of the picture. One could also use it to partially explain the trait of humans domesticating species and doing farming. As well as phenomena such as agriculturalists wiping out hunter gatherers in almost all parts of the world - it would seem from the spread of Indo-European languages throughout Europe for example (Basque and one other language I forget which, might be the only pre-agricultural languages left in Europe) that farming wasn’t something that everyone saw and say ‘Oh that looks good, let’s switch to that!’, but rather that the agriculturalists effectively took all the land over and annihilated the countless highly diverse hunter-gatherer ethnoi. (Ethnoi = plural of ethnos, basically ethnic groups, see Lev Gumilev’s ‘Enthogenisis and the Biosphere’ for this term/concept). So, as far as Darwin’s theory applies, it applies to humans too.
It would seem to me so. And it would seem that this is the primary cause for our mass extinction event. Sure fossil fuels are a major cause. But farming is either with it in the top 2 causes of our climate catastrophe, or is in fact the primary cause. So, there’s that!
One could argue that breeding ornamental flowers is ‘other’ than mere survival of the fittest. So in such terms, perhaps yes. Although even that might fall under the conceptual category of survival of the fittest. A person decides to breed flowers, makes no money, becomes homeless and doesn’t breed flowers anymore, and dies from cold. Another make lots of money, has a long career, and their ornamental plants spread across the continent. That’s survival of the fittest. Another pair of flower breeders - one tried for a year but his friends call him a sissy for it, he feels social rejection, and stops. Another tried and his friends congratulate him and admire him. He makes no money from it but the social approval makes him feel good, and he gets a nice girlfriend and has babies. Or even no babies, he just continues breeding flowers for decades. This all can be seen through the lens of survival of the fittest if you want to use that lens.
Unfortunately, do to our capacity to manipulate the environment, some of those mechanism that come under the concept ‘natural selection’ also mean that psychopaths run corporations, liars populate our governments, and environment-destroyers plough our fields. So in this regard natural selection ironically results in a species that is literally killing the biosphere.
Sorry I don’t know, you may have to research that.
I would not say ‘whole’ is necessarily necessary. But I did qualify: non-toxic plant based diet.
I do it because I want to try to make a positive impact on lessening the destruction our species carries out, and on poverty, and on the imminent global food crisis.
D3, go into the sunshine or buy it as a suppliment, it’s extremely cheap. N.B. there D3 is not the same as D2 etc. For K2 find ‘Natto Dad’ YouTube channel to see how to make nattō. I forget what vitamins come from lactofermentation, maybe B12? You’ll have to research, but anyway lactofermenting vegetables is extremely easy and cheap. Salinity level is important (by weight of total i.e. veg+ any water you may or may not have added), keeping the veg under the liquid level is important, some white stuff on top is fine just remove it, bright colours of black are bad, throw all away. Many videos out there on this. I’ve done it for years, no problem.
Could this be why Marijuana (Canabis sativa) use those Purple UV Lights so often? Could they possibly be doing the same thing? Speed Breeding? Maybe they have some useful advice to share?
Ah, now I see why you picked Peppers, Khang Starr Inspired you a lot didn’t he? 3 Species of Peppers… You mean all the ones that Cross with Capsicum annum? Like C. chinesne and C. bacantum? But not C. pubecens? I’ve always thought them as 2 groups of peppers, Black seeds Peppers and Pale Yellow/White Seed Peppers. I’ve seen a paper where some lab managed to cross the two (C. pubcenes x C. annum) but didn’t reveal/Open-Source their methods because of Patent.
Hmm… What if you could feed your hydroponic plants with urine? It does have lots of Nutrients does it not? What do you think could go wrong with 50/50 Water/Urnine mix? Or maybe mix even compost tea in there? What always turned me off from hydroponics is constantly buying plant nutrients, maybe you know a way to source nutrients from you land?
Based off how you learned the hard way, sounds likes it’s very easy to mess it up?
Hmm… would Urine be enough nutrients? I did an experiment where a grew food Permaculture Forrest in a pot in a 3-4 Inch Diameter (about 4 inches tall) using Urine and Mulch from the leaves. I basically jam packed as many plants as I could to test if they could survive on Urine alone! I Planted seeds like Basil, Lambsquaters, Tomatoes, Peppers, Squash, Crow Garlic, Mustard, Broccoli, etc. All the Plants grew well, no leaves yellowing or showing signs of Low Nutrition AT ALL.
I really think Urine supplied them with More than enough nutrients (Or maybe I just got lucky with genetics, or Both!). Here’s exactly what I did…
Started with old ass Potting soil, Threw my seeds in. (I just keep tossing all my trow away seeds in there like giving trash a 2nd life!)
Watered my pot with nothing but urine only when the soil was getting dry. (Never used a watering schedule)(Also I watered rarely, sometimes 2 weeks no watering cuz soil wasn’t dry)
No Babying what so ever! (Was trying to landrace a Container variety)
After Everything (Or just what) Germinated, I used the Fading/lower leaves that grew as mulch and ate the delicious Tops of Basil, Crow Garlic, & Broccoli leaves!
I kept tossing in Seeds as the pot grew, despite the thick mulch some seeds eventually found their way to soil or when mulch broke down.
It grew for a good 5-6 Months but I fucked it up in the end because I got stupidly lazy. In the same window, I had Fig/Squash Cuttings rooting so I just kept pouring the water in that pot instead of the sink. Basically my plants died because I over watered them and the roots started to rot. Thankfully I managed to get some Basil Seeds, Mustard Seeds, etc.
Had I kept going and didn’t mess it up, I wonder what would’ve happend. I really regret being a stupid fook, so I just waited till soil was bone dry and started it all over again.
I agree with that the God/Complex worldview is a cause of the current mass extinction event. Any Christians claiming to be Gods are false Prophets aka Wolves in Sheep Clothing. By their Fruits you will know them because anyone calming to be God always produces bad Fruit (Ugly/Horrific results).
Very True, we basically just Shat on that Responsibility to take care of the Earth. I think we are the “Chosen Ones” because it’s our responsibility (We wouldn’t have been chosen if we couldn’t fix it). If Earth is our temple, we are not doing a good job with taking care of it.
Very True! The High Churches (Nearly All have abandoned God) always attract the worst of us (Because Power Corrupts, and Absolute Power Corrupts absolutely. Power only amplifies who we are and none of us are perfect! Hence why only the perfect one should have Power, and that can only be God). Many if not most priest are Wolves in Sheep Clothing, No different than the Pharisees who “did everything by the book” to the point where being right was more important than loving one another. The fruit (aka da Results of what was in their hearts) they yielded was killing Jesus. Jesus was the only Perfect one because he was God in Human form. All of us fall short of God and yet God still loves us.
Also it’s just churches but any position of power always attracts the worst of us like Government, Cults, Churches, Corporations, etc!
Your are closer to God than most Christians are. Just because One confess with their tongue that God is their lord doesn’t mean they will be saved if their actions also don’t follow. Basically walk the talk, don’t just talk it, or make those “Empty Words” stand for something.
Bingo! but don’t beat yourself about it because it doesn’t yield good results/fruit. Be Stoic AF. God only expects from you, what you can actually do!
Why not, Crops heal the planet if grow in a healthy way (Which is easier to do). Legitimately we can partner with Nature (Like I think God intended us to do). And by taking care of soil, we can reverse Climate Change (Or environmental Destruction, Doesn’t matter which term you use, same exact Problem). Repenting is simply turning away from sin. We humans Seriously need to repent from our destructive methods.
Instead of doing it man’s destructive way. Do it Nature’s way like Paul Gouchi (Back To Eden)
Genesis 3:19 "By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Still I may be interpreting it a bit wrong (Because try as we might, we will never fully understand God) but these 2 quotes kind of show why nature does it better than us.
Hold up, Being Vegan is technically saving at least 1 animal, us! from things like Heart disease. Is it not? Assuming Non-Toxic Plant Based Diet is Followed (Which is a part of a healthy lifestyle).
No but I do get your point.
I do, If the Earth wasn’t our responsibility to care for why even bother, right? That’s why I see it as our job/role/purpose to take care of it.
I think you should look beyond just simply rewilding land, It’s a good goal but rewilding should also be able to yield food for us as well. like Knocking out 2 birds with one stone.
Or in a nutshell, rewild the land with a Permaculture Twist. WAY Too many people crowed in cities, Everyone who wants to should have their own land to take care of. There’s no reason for why Humans have to be a net negative on earth, we could just as simply be a net possitive too.
My bro! You da man! That’s why I Study Foraging, Permaculture & Landrace Gardening all Day! I’m very passionate about this for very similar reasons. Maybe we will have a Back to the land revolution soon cuz our time right now almost mirrors the 70s. History has a funny way of rhyming!
That’s the other side of the flip coin. Did we Domesticate these crops or did we evolve them instead? By Landracing plants, are we evolving them? Thing is we are also a Product of Nature, I guess Nature really wanted to end it self huh? So it made us to the job .
No but Seriously if we simply go full Headass with the natural selection view, are we what nature choose via Natural Selection, meaning our existence is Nature’s fault? Meaning Nature wanted us to do this to it? It’s sounds stupid just even thinking about it, hence why I think there is more than just simply Natural Selection.
Absolutely Yes, From dust we came, to Dust we return. It’s what Genesis 3:19 was saying. Hinting at the clue that we are already a part of an interconnected web. But we are truly the only part that can destroy the whole web.
hmm maybe this is what was meant by Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” I’m still trying to Understand the Bible and I think understanding it will yield good fruit (Aka Good Results in Life).
What do you think? Does God want us to have this world view too? Or no?
I think we will find out based on what that worldview leads to (If it yields good or bad fruit).
I could see where you are coming from. Unironically getting closer to the Natural World got me Closer to God. God is present in the world but not identical with the world. It’s interesting to point out how Gardening brings peace into my soul, just like how Jesus brings peace into my soul. That video on Orthodox Environmentalism I shared with you really spoke to me.
Yea, that does make sense. The more we learn, the closer we will eventually get to the truth.
We are all still learning, Science has still yet to prove that God Exists or Doesn’t Exists.
Last time I check God never gave us a Detailed Step by Step Tutorial on how he made us? Why couldn’t God use Evolution to make us? He made that “Forbidden Fruit” Of the Knowlegde of Good & Evil. What if that Forbidden Fruit Started Evolution (When we opened Pandora’s Box)? Just some theories, Noting here has been confirmed yet.
Romans 1:20 “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
Basically we have no excuse to not know God because we can see all the things he has made. (At least I think this is what it’s trying to say)
Hmm… If we study Life (God’s Creation) enough, nothing we find in it should disprove the existence of God. Not even Darwin’s theory right? Regardless of the outcome, those who know love know God because God is Love. Do you know Love?
Darwin’s theory also begs the question? Did we domesticate ourselves? Is that even Possible? Or is Evolution’s final destination Artificial Intelligence?
True but is it because of Dust Bowl Style of Farming we do? I mean because of our Farming Practices we are desertifying so much land. Clearly we need to farm better and I think Permaculture x Landrace Gardening is the solution to that.
Also can’t we generate Compost (From Plants/Waste) as a source of biofule? Why can’t we convert that energy (Composting Process generates lots of energy) into usable energy? I mean what is Fossil Fuels? Carbon? It is dead lifeforms meaning it technically is regenerative source (If you wait MILLIONS & MILLIONS of Years). What if we could speed up the process kind of like how you did with speed breeding?
Matt Powers video on the Carbon Cycle got me thinking about it.
Also water Stories’s YouTube channel provided me with hope that we can Legit Change our Destructive Farming Practices! Simply by Fixing the Water Cycle (Which is like 80% of our Climate).
Just be vigilant because Governments will try to ban farming via the “Climate Change Agenda”. Hopefully they don’t ban the permaculture way of farming too! Just like they “package” all sorts of other laws that destroy our freedoms like privacy.
Regardless this is just a beautiful video explaining the water cycle and How we can fix it!
Climate Change Denier or not, Doesn’t matter cuz We are Screwed Regardless. Permaculture/Landrace Gardening can Bridge the gap between 2 groups (Because all of us want to live and need to eat) and thus together we can solve the problems. Goverments will never do it, (nor can they be trusted to do it, especially not now cuz they all full of Tyrants all over the world) we need decentralized solutions (Which means Open Sourcing all of our Knowledge & Methods!).
Hah, never thought of that way but yea! I’m Starting to think Natural Selection and Capitalism truly has no discrepancy?
Very True, oh how we have forgotten to let love Guide us! Love should be our Guardrails to this.
I hope by Whole, we are not talking fully raw vegan cuz that’s not very healthy. Plus we humans discovered fire, It helps make food more digestible, so let’s use it to our full potential!
I Agree, I already do both with B12 & Vitamin D. Only problem it might not available if our imminent global food crisis effects the vitamin supply chain (Which is most certainly will).
I need to know how to make enough of it myself for this situation. Hence why I’m super interested. Also getting an Off Grid Source of it would be nice! and make me much more resilient when SHTF (Which humans will bring upon themselves soon if not now just in slow mo).
Their UV is to trigger defence mechanisms which create aromatics.
That’s like saying if I don’t murder people I am saving them. No, I am just not murdering. Not murdering is neutral, murdering is negative. Actively stopping others from murdering people who would otherwise murder people, is positive.
Just started reading return to resistance and it is just so wonderful it was exactly what I needed to read next to be a better teacher for seed saving and breeding in my community
