Anyone else growing Achocha In Europe ? I know real seeds are selling two types in the UK Cucumber Vegetable Seeds to buy in the UK from The Real Seed Catalogue and Germinance Accueil are selling the small type here in France . I have some large Bolivian type if folks are interested . Are there any other types out there ?

I have grown one for a couple of years, but I was not impressed with its taste and uses. It was very easy to grow.
That looks like the exploding cucumber type . If you click on the link from real seeds above They talk about that one and two others . I have not tried the one you have . But I have tried the other two and I find the much larger one -The Bolivian giant . The best in terms of taste and size.
Mine is Cyclanthera brachystachya, seeds brought from Ecuador by Joseph Simcox, I have got a few from him years ago. It is “exploding” type, but under my condition it actually has never reached “explosion” stage on a mass scale. Just a few fruits out of hundreds were “popping” when harvested. At that stage they were way too old to eat anyway.
@ThomasPicard gave me some i grew a few years back, they did fine, but i preferred normal cukes. He probably remembers where they are from. I believe it was Caribean, but not sure. Will have to check after christmas holiday if i still have them somewhere.
