Aji pepper (capsicum baccatum) landrace

Zone 8b humid wet heavy clay soil. I will be cultivating, forking and laying a thin layer of compost on the bed. Seeds roughly 120 ; Cristal, mango, sugar rush peach, fantasy, alpino de Colorado, Amarillo, lemon drop; sown march 1st indoors on heat mat set to 87 in compost mix in sunny window covered with shrink wrap for humidity. Goals for landrace is low maintenance heat resistant plants with thickwalled very fruity delicious lowish spice peppers picture from march 9th

You chose not to start them in native soil?

Yeah I believe that when you are starting a new landrace you should coddle the plants a little more to preserve more diversity just in the first year. In following generations I will most likely direct sow and let them die but my “seed bank” is a little low this year.
