It took me an hour separating these bush beans.
I have
-11 gram of possible crosses
-92 gram of black
-170 gram of light speckled
-120 gram brown
-89 gram of dark speckled
-26 gram of purple
-85 gram of light brown
-15 gram of light colored
-13 gram white
-6 gram black and white
-19 gram of yellow
-77 gram of kidney
Random mixing for now, i never had success with bush beans before GTS came along, so now i want to document which direction the grex is taking. So next year i’ll take another sample of the same size(if it goes as planned) and see what happened, and the year after…
I heard the black ones can be dominant, i have no idea if this is the case for me. But whichever it is, i plan to grow them seperately for consumption. Or maybe the best two or three growers , side by side and do some deliberate crossings between those, to get to that hybrid vigor stage.
I love climbing beans as well, but making climbing racks and stuff is rather time consuming.
In my mix this year, I found some dominants in my beans , so I put these aside during shelling, extracting a couple of beans out of each individual pods for seeds, and the rest for the kitchen. this way I try to keep some balance in the mix for next year’s sowing.
