No problem, and actually the information provided is coplement to what I’ve written, with additional info
Notes from the last meeting are finished, same document/link as before, with a reminder that if you want to read notes from earlier meetings, they are below the last one, and in settings (simbol in upper right corner) you can turn on ‘show table of contents’ and a list of meetings with links will show on the left side.
Since my internet dropped three times during the meeting I didn’t get some parts - I’ve noted where in the documents so who was there can add if I missed something important.
@marcela_v I definitely didn’t heard most of what you were saying about new seed laws so can you please write in some short info? I think it is important for people not at the meeting to be aware of the situation too.
And @malterod maybe you can check the serendipity box part, you summarised our discussion at one point but I didn’t write it down, maybe I missed something in the theme that should be written down
And thanks @ThomasPicard for the more proper name of the theme that actually makes sense, instead of ‘how do we talk about it to various people’ , I’ve just used it for the notes document
I added how I remembered the meeting ended (the part you lost and asked me to add to)
Edit to your post: @mare.silba said she would coordinate with the Americans and get back to us which date they prefer.
ok, regarding seed laws… I don’t know the current status of negotiations in EU because I was busy with other things, but I heard that the Polish suddenly became very strict about seed exchanges in Poland. Since 1.1. until 30.6. Poland is governing EU and there will be many frictions around the seed law. Polish government is famous for passing all kinds of laws in food industry because of receiving bribes from corporations. Excuse my language, but I think Polish politicians are the “cheapest whores” in the EU. Probably many other would also do it, but they are more expensive comparing to Poland
Our politicians are even cheaper, but our country is quite small and has much less influence in EU.
I mentioned this topic again because we discussed seed stewardship on the level of EU. We can create the best system ever, but if seed laws change in the upcoming months, it will probably be impossible to implement EU seed stewardship system. It is something to have in mind, not to be afraid. We should still think about this topic and continue developing it, in my opinion.
Also, please don’t think I am in favor of such laws. I like being informed because that’s a way how to find all kinds of creative solutions around it. It is Balkan specialty
When I/we edited the directory, the only seed shop who actually “closed down due to new EU law restriction” was Polish . https://pomidorowadolina.pl/
It was a very interesting seller as you can see here in March 2023, using Waybackmachine
Nasiona Pomidorów - Ponad 300 odmian - Nasiona - PomidorowaDolina.pl
But maybe @eArthur and @WojciechG will become ministers of Agriculture and let the seeds grow
There are no restrictions at all regarding seed exchange in Poland.
There are legal requirements that need to be met in order to sell seeds, especially in online shops.
Ok, this is one summary I found in Croatian language from December. Negotiations / trialogue is expected to begin in spring this year, so we will know more then.
If you can use google translate, here is the text in Croatian: Otvoreno pismo 139 organizacija EU ministrima: Hitno poboljšajte Zakon o sjemenu | Biovrt - u skladu s prirodom
And one link to Arche Noah’s overview with analysis down in one text:
Just an update regarding possible venue for the meeting in Croatia - I got a very nice price for the venue with accommodation per day it can accommodate up to 20 people, majority in common sleeping space, and some in small mud huts around the main house I will keep it a mystery until the meeting next week, just wanted to show off a little bit!
I will upload some photos when I’ll be next to my laptop.
This suspense is killing me !
@Tanjaeskildsen, did you have time to ask for some rates too for Majorca?
I’m still waiting for a reply. Hope it comes before next meeting🤞
So good ! a place that looks charming and very welcoming !
there are all the ingredients and equipment with garden, kitchen, dormitory, videoprojector… to organize a beautiful session.
You can try to guess the price by day if you are too curious

More on this meeting and previous one above and in particular: here and here
I prepared extended version of the questionnaire for the expected live meeting so we can discuss any changes and it will be ready soon to publish it among European GTS enthusiasts
Next meeting is @ Tuesday 4th February at 20h CET.
Since I was dropped out near the end and couldn’t connect again, can someone write if you agreed on some themes for the next meeting.
Notes will be up in a few days, I’ll let you know.
