Inbreeding in other forms of life puts the problem of heirloom varieties in perspective. I got inspired to search around for information on purebred dogs after listening to @julia.dakin’s presentation and because this is by now a well-known problem. This video tells the story short and maybe could inspire some here to tell a similar story for vegetables:
Someone told me recently that you can’t buy a good dog. You have to find one. I think they said that on a whim based on their observation but I immediately knew that was true from my own experience.
