Open hull squash seeds germination

Some time ago on the old platform I have been asking about squash seeds that come out of the fruit with open hull. The conclusion was that such seeds probably started to sprout and that they can do it once, therefore when dried, they no longer be viable.

I have dried such seeds and I have tried to germinate them. To my surprise, they start growing extremely fast, in 2 days after soaking them in water for a couple of hours and placing them in a closed, small plastic container. It looks like these seeds have been collected before “full germination” started and are still good. Next year I will check how they perform in the garden.
