2025 GTS Grow Reports - Fukuoka's Grab Bag, Everything Else

Yes! Everything else that does not have a catagory! Trees, flowers, ornamental varieties, herbs, roots, greens, lettuce and more. All can be found in the Fukuoka’s Grab Bag and its different every season.
I still had seed from 2024 and it grew a marvelous selection of plants. Please share your growing season with photographs and remember to collect some seed to send back into GTS. We love this mix!
Ill be planting the remainder of the 2024 packet this November. Or at least Ill pick out the cool season seeds and see what I get to grow.

I know there were some lupine seeds in the grab bag I got this year… does anyone know if those are the edible lupine?

Were they the small speckled looking beans? I haven’t planted them as of yet, I have to wait until October when it cools off again, Arizona zone 10.. .as a suggestion would it be possible to mix all edibles into one mix, and non edibles into the other?
How can you determine if they are the edible variety?

I contributed some tree cotton (which should do fabulously in your climate). It’s a dark gray, oval, matte seed about the size of a cowpea (possibly with the odd cotton fiber still attached). Possibly the one in the bottom left corner of your packet.

There would be advantages of separating the grab bag into “food” and “nonfood”, although there’s the tricky cases of “non-toxic, makes good tea, but usually used for fiber/other uses”

Oh, cool… I assumed that one was cotton of some sort. That’s exciting!

Ill look closer to see if I can determine where it is. Do you have photographs of the seed i could use for comparison?

Yes, have to determine some criterion. But I wouldnt consume anything unless I was 100 Percent sure on identification. And to keep sharing what we grow.

Okay, im loking for those seeds in the packet.

If I need to, I can include seeds in the care packages with low chill stone fruit pits.
