Do you by any chance have photos of your potatoes grown from seed?
I have some pictures of the potatoes in the garden this year.
I started to seed in 2021 and since then I grow from plantâŚand as you can see this year 2024 sees the first fruits appear on the right row (hoping that they hold until the end of maturity).
I remember having made a row with the yolks and another one with the roses, but I no longer remember so the fruits are on one of the two genetics.
both kinds are very good to eat, vigorous, highest, one remains with a greener vegetation, the other with more yellow leaves⌠and the main change with these genetics and that the plants remain in growing vegetation until the first frosts (the classic potatoes are currently withering under our climate)âŚ
In addition, these plants have a character to be more strongly suckering and make plants sometimes further than what is put into the ground.
Beautiful flowers too, and great to know that they continue growing until the first frost as I will be growing them during winter.
I wonder if the suckering trait is due to them learning how to forage for water? I noticed that my vittelotte variety did that which really increased the yield in my dry garden compared to the other varieties.
I would not be surprised that this genetics remains in vegetation and produces well the winters under your climate outside of frost. I noticed a very strong growth in late September when the first heavy rains here.
may be that they suckering like wild plants. This trait could be eliminated by the breeders who wanted to make buttage.
Do not rely on the small caliber in the first photo, these are the small ones used as a plant. They are bigger even if I have never found very large fruit but I have always grown in very unfavorable areas, so they are solid exactly what it takes to test in your conditions !
Amazing news! If you get a few spare seed potatoes besides seeds, Iâll happily buy these too to try them out. We have pretty much every potato disease here, so Iâm not too worried about the risk.
No, I donât sell seeds, nor plants⌠I give them !
we will make an exchange⌠in view of your garden photos you have a lot of incredible plants.
Meet in late autumn for exchanges of available seed lists (but please remind me), with the gathering of Antibes, european postal services will not be without jobs with GTS!
haha deal! Looking forward to it
I can really recommend Deaflora - Aromapflanzen Shop
They are a bit slow in delivery but have good quality seeds and a lot of different varieties on a very big selection.
Is there someone here that knows where to by true garlic seeds?
It seems vreeken.nl is a good place to by garlic - any other recommendations, especially for varieties that hopefully set seed?
Anyone knows a good place to buy hazelnut seeds for planting? Interested in making a landrace.
@Markus Markus : wouldnât you create a dedicated topic for that, as it will be found easily after : for example you ask us if we could find different nuts from our regions, possibly with specific qualities.
Yes I have done that
This one has some Austrian landraces.
Lots of old and rare varieties, landraces.

Hi @Ruediger ,
Do not hesitate to add them to the directory of European seed sellers: Framacalc - tableur collaboratif en ligne ⌠Weâre approaching the 200 webstores!
Related topic there: Directory of european seed sellers
Someone sent me this one Thomas! It was not in the list i found, but how to add it i cannot work it out!
Great, Iâll work it out
If you tell me how to i donât mind doing it, also for future might be nice.
Yep, will make a simple tutorial
First get rid of the â/viewâ
So then it appears like this and you can edit it:
For example to add a row select one:
then click on that symbol:
So you got a new one ready to fill:
Then you can add whatever you want in the row:
Colour code is orange : outstanding (=really special = you 'll find some things diverse only there), green: great (=great choice), white: to mention (= overall youâll be seeing most of their varieties in many many other catalogues, i.e. kind of basic, not to favour for bringing in diversity).
To change the colour of a row you underline it and then go there:
And this opens that:
And eventually you can change the colour by clicking on the âarrière-planâ box.
This may not be the best or handiest/easiest program in the world. I donât know if it is translated in english. We could upload it to another format if we want
You donât have to save anything, itâs automatic. and we will always be able to find the different editions. Thatâs the only really handy thing on it.
