This is very interesting.

It was interesting. I tangentially landed on the SRI page at Cornell, and I saw they are using the SRI techniques on Wheat in Africa to reduce the numbers of plants but increase the yields.

Yes, terrific interview! I knew about his work from Dan Barber’s writing but had no idea how fascinating it really was, on so many levels - such as the importance of growing and processing the crops in appropriate ways. Interestingly, he is reviving old landraces rather than creating new ones.
