ARCHIVE: Joseph's visit in Europe - preliminary meetings June - Sept. 2024

We’ll discuss things related to Joseph’s visit in October:

  1. Presentation of the international meeting
  2. Discussion about who is willing to come and how to find accomodation (collective?)
  3. Crowd-funding of Joseph’s travel expenses in coordination with some french farmers who are launching it
  4. Discussion and clarification of what we could propose to Joseph as a European tour, or at least a visit of a few places (first time in Europe!).

ooh, if Jitsi works well, might we end up using it more often?

OK PM is 20.00 right?

yes it is

Jitsi works fine 100%. Simple. Done a a few meetings on this. But I am no specialist though

I’m trying to connect tomorrow Thursday 20:00

Ok no idea what jitsi is but I will try to work it out by 8pm BST (is 19.00 GMT) then. We’d like to welcome Joseph to Bonnie (Southern) Scotland .

Uploading the recording of the call right now.

Was interesting with a shared visio call with famers of the french seeds movement (RSP), including the presence of Maxime, lead director of this international meeting.

We added an extra point to the listing up there : our potential presence as Going to Seed on the saturday"s event. Many ideas emerged in a brainstorming! Was great

We have eventually decided to schedule a next call thursday 11th July at 8pm Paris time 2024-07-11T18:00:00Z . Same subject.

More on that and a summary of what has been discussed soon.

thank you for last night, sorry not to have participated more between the concentration necessary to understand everything in English, and the fatigue that did not give me enough energy to find my words (I found it very difficult a video in English more than live in front of people)

Unfortunately my voice did not get recorded in the first part (I am 100% beginner in that kind of stuff…)So jump directly to 17’20" to hear what Maxime had to say about the international meeting itself and how he sees Going to Seed fitting in the event… I was more focused on technical aspects, he gave a broader point of view + had many precise infos I did not have (like accoodation) which was great.

Most of the second part is dedicated to crowd funding in relation to thiis tour aspect, and eventually we have ha a super discussion about what we could bring in on saturday’s ngos forum.

Summary to come.

yes it was great to be able to meet “visually”, it will be even better in October!

I was thinking even if I come by train with essentially seeds, I could bring some ears of the corn population Painted Mountain, people love the colorful ears all different it speaks to talk about evolutionary population :rainbow:

Mare for the badges the simplest maybe, each brings a support from home is redecut on the spot the impression I would have made with the logo, name, spoken language…

Hello all. Just a short notice that we’re in dialogue with @Soeren , @Logan and @christinaabildtrupj to come up with an idea for an event in Denmark where Joseph could speak and interact with us. If we manage to engage more of our communities - seed savers, farmers and especially the gastronomy world, it’s possible we could finance that part of the trip.

I’m planning to come to Antibes with @Hekseringen as well.

to simplify the centralization of the information of the participants and helped the organization I sketched a piece of table.
This will allow to know who comes when, and especially to put in contact those who wish to coordinate for housing.
I also put the means of transport to know who can transport what (plants, crops, seeds…).
The table is editable, we can then add the list of things that everyone can manage

Just to let you know: I have talked to Maxime Schmitt, main leader of the international meeting, and he told me that those willing to come in will need to hurry a bit for registration: it is already a success so within a few weeks (2 to 3) they will close registrations. :open_mouth:
As forecasted we will be more than 300 there.

For those who haven’t please read the last report linked in the previous message and remember: next call next thursday 2024-07-11T18:00:00Z on Jitsi Meet

I’ve booked accomodation for @Hekseringen and I in Antibes. We booked a room with space for 4 people, so if someone is still looking to share, you can get in touch with us about sharing.
