I came across this interesting video, at least i thought so. And thought why not have a little place for dumping all those interesting videos we come across…
So does fermentation influence the microbes present on the seed?
Personnally I would say definitely yes, like drying or any method… But then to which degree? And then what are best practises? Those regarding harvest, drying, with or without fermentation, and storage. And then coating with new endophytes at sowing stage and spraying post sowing… Aerobial communities? For example with oxygenated compost tea… Anaerobial communities? With lacto fermentations… There are many subsets of questions. And things we can experiment on… Even if we are not scientists… Those scientists working in this field of research are very open to discussion.
If anyone sees a study of microbiomes post and before fermentation I would love to see that.
Best ressource is the GTS course with James Whyte. It goes in even more details that those interviews.

White even talks about @julia.dakin as the first one experimenting with some new microbial coating methods, at the end of the regenag podcast.
Dr Whyte’s updates regarding endophytes

What a banger Thomas! Best video I’ve seen on the topic.
Oh great! Actually it is a friend who sent me link to this video this morning… I thought I knew all about that, and then I watched Great stuff indeed
Much shorter one, all about seeds and microbiome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_SzdJBXFLU
Casey Piscura does some amazing work. Great interview, essentially about his breeding work, while being a market gardener in a cold environment, quite similar to Joseph’s if I am right (maximum 3months frost freegrowing season , zone 3). Thanks @stephane_rave
Really great selection tips in it.
love this guys with their super seeds that work great at home !
@NickRoutledge this John Kempf video is interesting in lots of ways, but here I think you’d enjoy the religious references to the importance of seed saving for your research
Thank you @ThomasPicard , there’s a lot here I need to catch up with!
For francophones only:
You will see that this is not far from our adaptation gardening perspective. Thanks @Anphlo
Thank you so much, Thomas.
